This does not relate to being a newlywed...I've been trying to focus my posts on being married but it's hard sometimes. I had an excellent afternoon!
I left work at 3pm (I was scheduled until 5pm), and met up with 3 other female store managers and 2 sales reps. We had a couple of drinks and appetizers and talked about work and things going on at our stores and our opinions on everything having to do with SW. I told them about the troubles I've been having at my store (they are extensive and something I don't want to write about here because the posts would be too long), and I got the reassurance that I'm not the only one who has been through this, and that I will come out better in the end. We had a great time!
Then I got home and got a birthday card from Whit, which is funny because it said, "sorry this is late..." but my birthday is a week from Saturday. Very funny!
And I got a card from Elissa, the friend who got engaged on our trip to Mexico. It said 'Save the Date' on it but it was addressed only to me so I was confused. When I opened it, and it had only my name, so I almost figured it out. She asked me to be a bridesmaid!! I'm so excited because the entire time since they got engaged I've been fretting over it- thinking that I really wanted to be a bridesmaid, but that I hadn't asked her to be one of mine and that I regret that decision, so would she ask me anyway? And I didn't want to pressure her to ask me, I wanted her to make her own decision and I would be happy either way. So that made my day!
I'd mentioned in the post about Mexico that I felt really close to her and Stephanie and that if I could go back I would have gone ahead and looked dumb by having a TON of people standing up as bridesmaids for me, but at that time in my life I was having a hard time opening my heart for more friends after Donna died. I just knew I couldn't handle it if another friend got sick, so I figured, if I have less friends, there's less a chance of that happening. I'm so happy that we've grown closer over the last couple of years and I'm super excited to stand up for her at her wedding! And that means I can go look at wedding dresses with her and not be that weird friend who is hanging around.
