Week 3...getting close!

I realize that these pictures do not show the amount of work that's gone into the kitchen this week. The cabinets took 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of paint which took quite awhile. I also worked on touching up the walls that were banged up during the demo work. Notice the new sheetrock backsplash- that was all Bean and it's probably his least favorite part of the whole job. Except the grinding.

We added on some work. We must be crazy. Notice the oil splatters on the door below:
While we were finishing up grinding, some oil splattered out of the jackhammer and got all over the doors and walls. We hate the ugly brass doorknobs anyway, but haven't felt compelled to purchase all new ones for the entire house, so we just didn't buy any. I can't remove the oil by cleaning, so we are going to paint the doors the same color as the rest of the trim and change the knobs.

Here are all of the appliances, sink, faucet, and disposal ready to be put to work!

And finally another view of the only section of finished cabinets. The new hinges and pulls make all the difference.

Next week will be a huge update since we will be about 90% done by then. Big changes to come!
