Month of Thanksgiving

Since my last few posts have been a little down, and I'm really behind on some recent happenings, here's a list of the postings I put on Facebook each day for the Month of Thanksgiving. The goal is to put something different every day, but I think I put Jamba Juice twice, and I sorta put Bean twice. I guess I really love Jamba Juice and Bean! :)

I didn't hear about this idea until after November 1st, and I wanted to be perfect and post something for each day, so I didn't do a 'yesterday' post.
Also, I originally posted this work comment and a coworker who I really like put something up on his own page that made me second-guess my decision to be open with all of my Facebook friends- all of the coworkers I agreed to be friends with are people I feel comfortable with, but you can never be sure, right? So I took it down and created a coworkers group on the computer at home, then reposted!
November 2: Now that my work friends can't see this: I'm thankful for my well-paying job, even if sometimes it's incredibly boring.

November 3: I'm thankful (in advance) for the epic nap I will take this afternoon. And it was so very epic.

November 4: I'm thankful for a road trip with my husband, and he's driving. I don't need another speeding ticket today. :) I got a speeding ticket on the way to work.

November 5: I'm thankful for my health, specifically the ability to walk hundreds of miles and enjoy it. For today's nature walk and for Jamba Juice. We were in Houston killing time before a wedding that night. I was thinking about spending time with Bean and the experiences at both of the 3-Day walks. And I just love Jamba Juice.

November 6: I'm thankful to God because otherwise none of our problems would have worked out perfectly. I'm thankful for Elizabeth Hold Reyna and Louis Reyna: they are not only the greatest friends but they picked us up and took care of us. I'm thankful for the random Chevy salesman for giving us the honest feedback that the car won't be fixed quickly. I'm thankful for Ben Brooks for trying to diagnose car problems over the phone. And last but not least, I'm thankful for Connie Cantrell Brooks for loaning us her car so we could get home today. I'm convinced now more than ever that my car hates me. :) Long story.

November 7: I'm thankful for laughing with my aunt and cousins, and for the new baby arriving today! I was hanging out at the hospital for about 7 hours waiting on my new cousin to be born. I was able to be close to the birth (but not too close) and it was an amazing experience. I was still thinking about it the next day:

November 8: I'm thankful for the miracle of life. It's truly amazing! Anna and baby Oliver brought that home for me last night. I'm in awe! — with Anna May O'Neal.

November 9: I'm thankful for Brooklyn because she is so cute and funny, and she's getting better at leaving the cat alone! I included a cute picture of her.

November 10: I'm thankful for UNT, Fry Street, the Talons, SigEp, University Courtyards, and the rec center for the best times of my life! This is probably my favorite.

November 11: I'm thankful for our veterans- and the grandpa I never met buried at Arlington National cemetery: James C Brooks. Ok, I felt like an ass not mentioning Veterans Day. I'm a jerk, right? I was probably really going to put something dumb about clean air or what I had for lunch.

November 12: I'm thankful for days that just cruise by- just when you need them to! Work day.

November 13: I'm thankful for each and every Sunday that I do not work. Bean has taught me how to cultivate sarcastic comments. This is one of them- I was at work.

November 14: I'm thankful for all of the fun work and social activities this week! There's something fun every single day. Training, Ribbon Cutting, Dating Anniversary, Wedding Anniversary, then a full weekend off!

November 15: I'm thankful for silly coworkers! Accompanied by a 'silly' picture at our ribbon cutting.

November 16: I'm thankful that 7 years (!) ago today, with the help of Bari's in Denton, and Rushlow's song 'I can't be your friend', [Bean] and I started our relationship- for real this time. :) Here's the first time we were captured on film together: The picture is the one on the sidebar of him in the yellow shirt where I'm teaching him how to dance. I can't believe we've been together for 7 years!

November 17: I'm thankful to have been married to my favorite guy for 4 years today. It seems like yesterday! Fruit and Flowers anniversary. I'll post pictures!

November 18: Thanks for all the anniversary wishes! Today I'm very thankful for my relaxing morning: yoga, jamba juice, spa pedicure. Hopefully I can learn to make relaxing a priority more often, and leave work at work. Work got stressful, and I was able to forget about it for 3/4 of the day- pretty proud of that.

November 19: I'm thankful for our clean garage. Now, I will park my car inside for the first time since we moved in. 3 years ago. :) We finally took all of our construction garbage to the dump- it took 2 loads! So I can park inside now. It's so awesome.

November 20: I'm thankful for a day spent reading a good book.

November 21: I'm thankful for the 6 days off coming up. Need to get away from here. Rough morning at work.

November 22: I'm thankful for my Stoney LaRue station on Pandora. It makes the day great! And the way I cope with annoying days- by fantasizing about the college days. :)

November 23: I'm thankful for the streets of Houston- I love coming back. It feels like home.

November 24: I'm thankful for my amazing family, and for being able to spend the best holiday ever with them! Spent Turkey Day with my mom's family. They are so fun and it was so relaxing.

November 25: I'm thankful that the Longhorns spanked the Aggies in their own stadium. No, I didn't watch the game, but YES I was VERY happy about this. Bean was not.

November 26: I'm thankful for my mom. There are too many reasons to list, but one from today is the baby book she wrote for me. I'm always drawn to the purple bin at her house that has all the random stuff she saved for me. I love reading her detailed notes about my birth (more so now than ever!) and the funny things my cousins said to her before I was born.

November 28: Yesterday I was thankful to catch up on recorded tv shows, and today I'm thankful for orange juice. So I skipped a day and did the 'yesterday' thing. Lame, I know.

November 29: I'm thankful for my cousins- all of them. They are the best! I really have the best cousins- the Bensons, the Mays, the Cheatwoods, the Alfords. They say cousins are your first friends, and that's so true- all of mom's photo albums are filled with pictures of us swimming in the summer, hanging out, birthday parties, etc. I also love getting to know my cousins by marriage!

November 30: I'm thankful for my friends, near and (very) far. The ones I see every week, and the one I won't see again. Every day I feel lucky to have them! The end.

So that last one was disappointing. Nobody commented on it, nobody 'liked' it. I was saving it for last because I really think my friendships say a lot about me and who I am. I hinted at Donna, so I wouldn't be too weird and dedicate a whole day to her- to macabre.

Anyway, it was a fun thing to do each day. I think it might be the one thing that pulled me out of my funk- looking for the positive in every day.

I should have did mine on FB, too. I did it on my blog, but it was boring and I skipped a bunch of days! :/
