6+ Weeks

It's so weird that I've been a 'Mom' for just over 6 weeks now- I feel like I've learned so much in that time, about myself and my baby. How about a photo overview since I take at least one picture every single day?

She was so puffy at first! I can see her personality looking back on this but at the time I had no idea!

 Those eyebrows are non-stop.

Taking a rest with Dad.

Reminding me of her Aunt Donna.

I love her in footed pjs except she gets really hot and even sweats though her thin blanket every night- with nothing underneath but a diaper!

Chunky girl happy on my chest. This is also the only outfit I've purchased for her.

One of her first smiles, and then looking like we smoked hookah and/or doing our paw paw Buddy impression.

And then all of a sudden she's a month old! I bought these ugly dolls because when I went to visit Liz in Boston, we saw these at a weird shop and both thought they reminded us of Donna. This particular one is called Ugly Charlie which is funny enough on its own, but the story is Ugly Charlie likes to perform with his best friend and doesn't ever stop... Reminds me of Liz and I!

Looking like a boy in her first cloth diaper. And then we started this game called 'Put the blanket on my head and take a picture'...

We play that game a lot. We also put the blanket over both of our heads and sing a song about being in a tent.

Her outfit for Mother's Day. That bow made me laugh and a certain song came on at Le Peep which let me know we had a special guest for brunch.

We got lots of questions when we used the Moby wrap at Target. Abby liked having her toupee before I cut all my hair off the next day.

Looking like a gothic Marilyn Monroe after eating her sugar candy aka Colic Calm.

We went to a baby shower and had an epic battle of bodily fluids: she let me clean up a massive poop (yes I have a picture), so I sprayed her in the face with milk. (I have a picture of that too).

Chillin like a Villain, doin some Billin', hopped up on Penicillin.

That's just a sneak peek of the kind of things we talk about all day long. We also sing our favorite Disney songs, count fan blades, fingers and toes, stick out our tongues at each other, and my personal favorite- smile and laugh! Especially when I'm nursing her and she makes eye contact with me, so I say 'what are you doing?' And she smiles at me with my nipple in her mouth. So weird and cute.

A few other first 6-week highlights:
-a special visit from Pop and Granny Margaret!
-nightly bath time with dad is the highlight of her day
-the days with minimal fussing means we are in sync and having fun
-Bean and I went on a date night to see The Great Gatsby and when we came home Abby was sleeping peacefully
-Abby has put herself on a routine where she only wakes up at 1-2am and then around 5, when we snuggle in bed after nursing until 7 or 8

And finally, my favorite picture of her so far:

I can't wait to see what she learns next!
