Greetings from the Flower Mound public library!

We are now approximately two weeks out from our new closing date. It's on a Monday, which is good because I'm always off on Mondays. The inspection went fine, there are a few minor problems, but nothing we can't fix ourselves (i.e. replace the light bulb in the microwave).

So far the plan is to close as early as possible on Monday morning. I'm REALLY hoping for an 8am close. Then we'll head straight over to the house and get to work. First things first, Bean will carry me over the threshold. This is a very important step. Then, we will cover the floors and part of the walls downstairs with plastic and protect the stair railings, and use a pump sprayer to hose down the hideous popcorn ceilings. When they are sufficiently wet, we can scrape them down.

I've convinced Bean that we should at least do the downstairs before we move in and that I can tackle the upstairs myself later. We are taking applications of volunteers who would like to come get dirty and help us scrape them down as quickly as possible, and get paid in pizza.

If it goes the way I want it to, we will be able to get the popcorn down, and apply the new texture in one day. Then we can let that dry overnight, and come in the morning to paint. Unless we really do come up with extra helpers, we will probably have to texture in the morning, which pushes the painting back another day (which is a day too late). It took long enough to convince him that we should do this now instead of waiting, that I really want it to go smoothly.

Not to mention, that we only have Tuesday (my best-case scenario-paint-in-the-morning-day) to get as much stuff as possible moved. Wednesday we both go back to work and will have to get moved after work. We have to be out of our hotel and storage unit on Thursday. It should be an interesting week.
