Well, I got the job. I didn't want to jinx myself by saying I thought I got it before I was actually told that I did, even though my manager took me off the schedule and everyone I know was rooting for me and was sure I would get it.
My final interview was actually sorta fun because I already knew the manager it was with (he's been around the district since I was part time and he knew who I was). We basically just chatted about my career goals and he was the first to congratulate me on getting the job.
So now I have my very own tiny store that's in a hard to find location, and whose biggest account is one of the biggest jerks I know of. If I had known that this guy's account was out of my future store, I would have thought twice before applying for it. Seriously. But I'm sure I will learn something about how to deal with people like him though.
I start my one year (or less!) tenure at my new store on Friday. Let's all hope I learn something and don't get too bored considering how slow the store is. And that I can handle going back to my old commute time (45 minutes instead of my current 7 minute drive).
