Work and Working Out

I have officially finished painting my store. I finished on Wednesday, then worked on putting things back in place yesterday. I left a laundry list of things for my assistant to complete this weekend while I'm off, but unfortunately I don't think I can expect for all of it to get done. He and I do not have the same motivation levels, which is very frustrating to me. I've always been motivated to do the best job I can do, to finish each project I start, and to leave the place better than it was before I came in. He choooses to spend more time chatting with customers, forgetting what he's working on, and leaving projects unfinished at the end of the day.

But, I digress. I have worked out 3 days this week so far, and plan to add today as the 4th. I've really enjoyed it. I think I'm finally in the right frame of mind to make working out a priority again. Maybe it's because I'd rather be working out than sitting at home by myself? I just know that it's been on my to-do list every day, and I've found a way to make it happen. And maybe it's also because I haven't been pressuring myself to eat perfectly, and work out as hard as I can. I know that it will take time to get back to where I was, and I'm giving myself time to do that. I already feel stronger and better. I'm listening to my body more.

Am I letting go of my perfectionist ways? I sure feel like I am! At work and at working out.

I think it's still in the background of everything, but I'm realizing sometimes it just not possible or healthy. I would probably be laid up today if I did every single pose in last night in yoga that the teacher did and didn't modify it for myself. And I'm realizing that the complete overhaul of the store is taking time, and will continue to do so until it's done- there's no way to set a time limit on it. It may never really be 'done'.

I'm so excited to see Bean this evening! We're having a date night tomorrow night and going to a cool restaurant in downtown Houston, then staying at the Hyatt downtown. I got an excellent rate on Priceline- a 4 star hotel for $60 a night (plus tax)! Also, Lauren's Bridal Shower is tomorrow, which I've helped with some of the planning. I'm excited to see everything come together.

In the middle of all of that, this weekend I need to get Lauren a gift, some new work pants, and a clear business card holder that hangs on the wall to display my painters' cards. The White Glove Contest at work starts Monday, and I'm hoping we can pull it out and win the 'Most Improved' store appearance award. Wish me luck!
