Central Market is the greatest. They have self-serve peanut butter, different honeys, bulk foods like flour, specialty salts, grind-your-own coffee, and amazing selections of specialty produce, seafood, meats, and any random organic food you could ask for. There's also a gelato bar and a huge selection of sushi, fresh breads, a salad bar, and precooked foods. The plan was to see what they had and come up with a menu for our stay at home dinner date.
We couldn't decide because there was so much to choose from. We decided to go the easy route and pick up one of their "Dinner For Two" packages.
It came with everything we needed: Almond Crusted Tilapia, Rice Pilaf with raisins and almonds, Creamed Spinach, and rolls. We added a chocolate whoopie pie for dessert. It was simple to heat up, we just threw it in the oven for about 20 minutes. That gave us time for a cocktail while we waited.
And we got to use the ramekins we registered for but never received. I ended up buying them while shopping for other people's wedding gifts. We use them almost daily for ice cream.
The fish was delicious, and I liked the creamed spinach. Bean loved the rice pilaf and the roll. It was an excellent dinner for $13.99! Much cheaper than a restaurant, but just as much food, and the same quality. I can't wait to go back to Central Market. You never know what you will find!
