Lazy Sunday mornings (wait, what are those again?!) call for pancakes. I love mine with chocolate chips, Bean prefers his plain, and I decided to throw out all of those rules and make blueberry pancakes. Yes, they are whole wheat, yes, they have oatmeal in them, and no we won't be making them again. But they were healthy for our little lady!
I still added chocolate chips to mine, and a side of nutella.
Check out that close-up setting on the camera!
Usually we sing songs while eating breakfast.
She's getting really good at holding foods. I've seen her pick up a strand of cheese between her pointer finger and thumb and successfully get it into her mouth. She prefers to eat real foods to the pouches, but I like to offer the pouches at each meal to make sure she gets more fruits/veggies.
Her newest trick is to close her eyes and raise her eyebrows, then slowly open her eyes. I think it's the beginning of an eye-roll.
Her favorite part of this was the blueberries. Obviously she didn't get her Aunt Liz's hatred of cooked fruits.
Starting solids was scary at first. Once I got comfortable with nursing, now all of a sudden we have to switch it up. But once we got the hang of it, I'm having fun giving her things and finding out what she likes. So far the only thing she doesn't like is peas in a pouch. Or the pouches with meat in them. (Gross! Would you like ground up pureed meat?)
She is on a pasta kick now, and has tried lasagna, penne, bowtie, tortellini, and ravioli. Tortellini with pesto was her favorite. Also eggs are still a breakfast favorite, as well as ezekiel toast. She's a pretty good eater- she likes to take her time and enjoy that time. I look forward to the conversations we will have!
