I don't even know how to document these tiny closets and how full of clutter they are. (Were.) The entry closet is something we didn't have at our last house and we are excited to fill it up with everything that didn't have a place- luggage, 3 different DirecTV boxes, costumes, and of course our jackets.
I hesitated getting started because so much of these items are shared, but we were both home Sunday morning and just pulled everything out and went for it!
Among the treasures, we found this gem: a duffle bag full of random junk including a full bottle of ranch dressing, a squeegee, sunscreen, and trash. Which is exactly where all of it went.
We decided which luggage pieces we liked the best and used the most often and kept those, then decided what categories of items we have that we need to put in storage bins. That's obviously next on the list!
Again, I had a strong urge to halt the project and paint the closet. This just shows how empty it is now that we got rid of our clutter.
Among the categories, we have breastfeeding/babywearing supplies, swimming safety supplies...
... and vacuum attachments.
We put luggage and jackets on the left side...
... and costumes on the right! You never know when you will need a blonde wig or a red evening gown. Or maybe you get an urge to play baseball in a dress, we have that covered too.
After going through so many areas in one day, we loaded up the truck with all of the cast aways and donated them to Goodwill. I already have 3 receipts from them this year to claim on our taxes and it feels amazing not having useless items clogging up our space. Sometimes I peek into the entry closet, or stand in the party closet admiring my vases. Don't judge!
