For Throwback Thursday, I wanted to finally share Abigail's Big Girl Room! We worked on this last year and had it completed a couple of months before baby sister Francie arrived. The room was originally the guest room because it was less hideous than the other upstairs room used to be (stay tuned for a post about that room!)
Please notice the disgusting popcorn ceilings that we didn't have the money to remove with the rest of them from downstairs when we moved in. The ceiling fan is just old, and the room was just a junkyard for old toys that we were saving for future potential babies.
Baby Abigail loved to play with them when we would come up to work on our plans for the space. We decided this would be her room because of the shelves above the windows. They are dated to me, but lots of friends commented that they were a great value, so we decided to work with them.
These windows face the street and had ugly metal mini blinds covering up the diamond pane windows.
The rest of the room was just dingy white walls, gross carpet, and details just begging for an update.
Sneak peek: We did something a little different on the ceiling in this room, and it ended with our first attempt as a team on installing crown molding.
Abby was upstairs helping as often as she could. She even helped paint the walls some! She was great at helping pick out paint colors once her comforter came in. I think it's in her genes!
