Valentine's Day

I walked in from work expecting a white orchid from Home Depot- it's what I asked for because I knew the price on it wouldn't be jacked up like at florists on Valentine's Day, plus we could use it to decorate the bedroom. Instead, he wrote a sweet card explaining all the gifts. The game Life because I always mention it when I say we should have a game night; Butterfinger eggs because Easter candy is my favorite and so is Butterfinger; tulips because I was begging him to plant tulips outside since our first realtor suggested them (and I love them); the Brad Paisley CD because I've been wanting it; and the kettle bell because my favorite workout is doing weights.
It kinda makes my gift look puny:

I got him a card and handmade peanut butter cups because they are his favorite. I got the recipe from Paula Deen and didn't change it, except I used organic peanut butter, butter, and graham crackers (and the peanut butter was banana flavored).

For our first V-day as newlyweds, we decided to avoid the crowds at restaurants and make fondue at home. I did all the shopping, but I came home to find the cheese grated, the fondue pot set up, and the veggies being chopped. (By the way, those are my least favorite parts of making fondue). It came out ok. We decided that it would be fun to have a fondue party, but we'd have to get a lot better at making fondue before we invited people over to eat it. That's about all I have to say about Valentine's Day- anything else would be over the line. :)
