New Manager Training

I am officially done with all of my training for work. As far as I know. I learned a lot this past week, and feel more prepared to run my store correctly. And I had a lot of fun after class each day! Here are some highlights:

-My roommate was asleep before I got back from the bar on Sunday night, but she left a note that said, "I snore. Try these, they really work. Sorry!" and left me my very own set of purple earplugs. So thoughtful of her!

-Monday night, we went to Humperdink's and one of their beers is called 'Buttface something' and that was the joke of the week. The next morning my roommate and a few others kept saying, "Man, that buttface really gave me a headache"

-I learned to play darts a little bit. I got a bullseye about 3 times over 3 different evenings. I'm also really good at cheating. It's easy to mark an extra strike on your side when the other team is too drunk to notice. It also helps if you can get your teammate to help you cheat.

-Stereotype alert: people from the midwest seem to think they are better than us Texans because they use proper english. Whatever y'all!

-Fried Calamari at the hotel restaurant was really excellent. I had it two days in a row.

-Dinner with Terri on Tuesday was a nice break from the hustle. The restaurant was average, but it was great to see her.

-Everyone who is not from Houston was enamored with my 'making out with myself in a corner' routine, where you stand facing a corner and wrap your arms around yourself and it looks like you're kissing someone. My dad showed me it when I was little and I thought it was hilarious. So did everyone else, except one guy from Houston who said he had actually seen it before.

-On our last night, we went back to Humperdink's, had more buttface beer, played more darts, and I drew tattoos in pen on several coworkers. A couple of them said "I (heart) Buttface" and one of them said "I (heart with little hearts inside of it) My Mom". I think they wanted me to draw on them because we were talking about tattoos and I drew the tattoo I've thought about on my ankle, to show them what it would be.

It was a fun week and an easy distraction from my loneliness. I couldn't have been alone even if I wanted to!
