I've started a ritual on Wednesday evenings, all centered around a pilates class that I really like. I work until 5pm (longer than most days), then drive over to Central Market. I sit at my favorite table, eat a cup of soup and read a magazine for an hour and a half, then go to the pilates class.
I love it because I get to eat soup, sit at my favorite table, wear yoga clothes, and workout without getting sweaty. And I can always tell that I got a good workout the next day.
Another one of my favorite things to do used to be to go to Barnes & Noble and read bridal magazines and drink hot chocolate from Starbucks. I loved that because I got to fantasize about my wedding and drink hot chocolate.
Both of them feel like a vacation- like something I do just for me. Taking a bubble bath works for some people, but never for me.
Just put me at a table in a public place with hot liquid and magazines and time and I'm good to go.

Sounds like heaven to me! I LOVE sitting at a cafe table outside, like at a sidewalk cafe! Some quiet time spent at a table like that would feel like a vacay for me!
