As you may know I LOVE breakfast food. Pancakes are preferred over waffles (not sure why, they are pretty much the same thing). Maybe it's because I remember the first time I made pancakes at my mom's house. She told me to wait until a big bubble near the center pops and doesn't fill back in before flipping them. Or maybe because you can put all kinds of stuff in them like blueberries or chocolate chips. Or because there are excellent whole-wheat versions that taste especially delicious with flax seeds and blueberries.
Anyway, I was thrilled when we got a griddle pan for our wedding. And I was just as excited when Liz helped me come up with the idea for a Breakfast for Dinner Birthday Party this year. And then I got a birthday package in the mail from her with special pancakes and syrup from her neck of the woods! Here's an action shot of the fluffy pancakes:
Nice big bubbles...and on the other side:
Delicious. They look like the perfect picture (check out the steam!):
My dinner, along with Bean's special mix of OJ and Cherry Vodka:
This is how I really eat my pancakes- all cut up in random-shaped, same-sized pieces, with butter and syrup on every piece. Wow they were delicious.
