Birthday Cards

Now that all 3 of these cards have been delivered, I can share them with you!

I LOVE the way this J turned out, it almost fades away because of the print but it's still there. I realize some people might not like this, but it makes me feel artsy.

The same goes for the 'Happy Birthday'. One thing I learned on this card is to not use regular-thickness paper for the envelope and cardstock for the envelope liner. The edge where the flap closes is not perfect because of the heavy weight inside. This card is very 'springtime'. Happy Birthday Jess!
For the next two, I used pages from expired wallpaper books. They cut really well on the Cricut, but I had to make sure the stuff printed on the back of them didn't show up on the card/envelope.
I really liked using the cardstock, then wrapping a different paper around the edges and having a pattern on the back. It's really helpful if you are using one-sided paper and want a simple flat card. I realized I don't like cards with a lot of yellow. That explains why this isn't my favorite. I do love the paisley print on the back though!
We went to a wine tasting for this Birthday Girl and had a great time. Happy Birthday Elissa!
And this is the first card I've made for a boy:
It's probably my favorite. Except that the polka-dot paper does NOT match the wallpaper sample. I like the stripes and how I used the wallpaper for the envelope and liner, and how the card looks like notebook paper. I just love how it all came together.

Except of course for this horrible color-match. You'd think I don't match colors for a living.
