Elissa and Joey's Wedding!

Yesterday we were honored to stand up for one of our favorite couples as they said, "I Do."

This was the least stressful wedding day I've ever been a part of, even my own! Everything was planned out and we were at least 5 minutes early to everything. We were so early for the bridal brunch that we walked around Petco and met a French Bulldog (named Joey), and saw a gray cat, also named Joey. We had a delicious brunch, then headed over to Joey's brother's house to get ready, then onto the church for pictures. The worst part was waiting for the ceremony to start!

Bean and I got up at the Rehearsal Dinner and told the story of when I first met this group of guys. I remember meeting Bean, and Maggie had a picture from that night. I remember looking at the picture, pointing at Joey and saying something about that's the guy I was talking to- he's cute! It's funny because Joey was wearing a plaid shirt and a hat in the picture, and those are two things I've never seen him wear since. And we know how Bean is about his plaid!
I don't have many pictures from the wedding day, but I do have a good story. We practiced the entire ceremony- they even practiced their vows!- except for one thing. There was going to be a duet during the ceremony by the same people who performed the same song at Elissa's parents' wedding. There was also a song performed by the MOH's brother- a great one called 'I could sing of your love forever'.
We all thought nothing of it until we were standing up on the stage in front of the entire church and they started singing. It was opera. Very different style from the rest of the music. I couldn't understand the words. I glanced over at Jimmy (a groomsman) and he was smiling. Then I looked at the Best Man and the higher her voice went, the bigger his eyes got. Elissa and Joey were standing at the unity candle with their backs to the congregation. I tried to look down. But everytime I looked back up someone else had a funny look on their face. Soon enough my shoulders were shaking so hard I couldn't hide it. Jeff (another groomsman) said that he looked at me and he couldn't tell if I was laughing or crying. I peered out of the corners of my eyes at the other girls, and Melissa smiled and looked down at her bouquet. The more I looked around, the funnier it got and once I start laughing, I can't stop. I tried to dab my nose with my handkerchief to make it look like I was tearing up. I don't think it worked.
The worst part of it all was that it was from Elissa's parent's wedding! So we are all laughing at something that's sentimental. But I know I couldn't help it!

Beautiful bride and me

We had such a great time at all of the events leading up to the wedding, from the engagement to the engagement party, to the couple's shower, to the lingerie shower, to the Bachelorette party, and finally the wedding weekend. We made a lot of memories to last a lifetime.
And now we get to bug them about having kids, the same as everyone does to us.

Cool! You can let the bugging go in one ear, then out your mouth to Joey and Elissa! Very nice pictures ...Bean looks "fly" in his glasses!! :-)
