We only took one picture this day. Since we didn't sleep very well at the Madonna Inn, we got up and left pretty early. We stopped in Pismo Beach for some cinnamon rolls on the way down. Looking at this picture makes me feel relaxed, because I remember how they tasted, and I remember feeling really connected with Bean.
We were quiet most of the way back to LA. We stopped at Carl's Jr for lunch- it wasn't worth taking a picture. Then we dropped off Silver Bullet and took the tram to the airport. We waited in line for a very long time, some rich ladies used a woman in a wheelchair to cut in front of us, and took forever getting all of their jewelry and boots through the x-ray scanner. By that time, I couldn't wait to get out of LA.
I read Sarah's Key in the airport and on the plane, and I finished it up just as we were landing at DFW.
That's when the relaxation ended. We took a cab to the house, dropped off our stuff, I finished up my business plan for the new store opening in Plano at Custer/121, went to Kinko's and had them bind it professionally, got dinner from Taco Cabana (it was 10pm), worked on my plans a little more, and went to sleep around Midnight.
Then I woke up at 5am, opened the store, and went to interview for the new store. I got a call that afternoon that I was going for a second interview on Monday. I wondered why they were making me wait so long. Then I got a call the day after that and was offered the job!
The salary is 16% more than I was making before, the highest percentage raise I've ever gotten in my career! So my meeting on Monday was just to go over the plans for the new store. Stay tuned for pictures of my old store and the new one!
