At about 3:00pm, I started feeling like I was going to throw up and Brittney said, "Give her a cookie!!" very urgently. It worked. Then I chose NOT to look at my dad when I saw him because I knew he would make me cry. Instead, I fixed my eyes on the ground until it was time to walk down the aisle, wearing my favorite dress of all time.
And then I married this:
What a cute guy. He's so smart he can balance a remote on his head.
Last year I had a freak out week (I partially blame it on Yaz, but that's another story), when I found a chip in the main stone of my engagement ring. I screamed at the people with Jared over the phone about how rude they are. I researched how much a new stone would cost online and sent dramatic emails to my friends letting them know my plight. Then I switched birth control, calmed down, and decided that I didn't care if it had a chip in it, it is my ring, and it's the one he proposed to me with, so it wasn't going to change. Chip and all.
Then today, I had my ring appraised so we can finally have it covered by insurance. I mentioned the chip to the gemologist, thinking it would lower the value of the ring and to have a real expert opinion on what caused it. She put my ring back under the microscope and showed me the best news I've heard yet! She said the diamond is not chipped, it has a 'natural' which is kind of like a rough edge where they polished the stone to make it the shape it is today. It has a small patch of it's original rock form. She got all excited, which got me all excited. My ring is completely unique and it kept a part of it's originality. It makes me love it even more. I just think it is so cool that my ring really is special. I think that's what every bride wants, even 2 years later.
